Othus is the god of earth. Sometimes called the Deep One or the Slumbering God, it is said in legend that the earth of Runera is composed of the flesh of his sleeping corpus, cast into eternal slumber during the Making of the World. At times, it is said, he will rouse fleetingly from his rest to send murmurs and whispers through rock and stone to his faithful. The [[Dwarves|dwarves]] of Runera have worshipped Othus passionately since ancient times, naming him Otet Vazhrog, the Stone Father, who they believe carved them into being from his own earthen flesh. Before the fall of the Kharadim, priests of Vazhrog called *vedmak* led the [[Dwarves|dwarves]] to dig ever deeper into the earth to hear more of his Deeping Whispers, which drove the priests and their followers increasingly mad. Othus is commonly worshipped by miners seeking riches, farmers begging for fertile soil, and builders searching for quarriable stone.
