Dwarves, or Dzedka, are a rootless and often itinerant people bound by strict clan ties who long to reclaim their lost [[Kharadrim]]. Dwarves have rounded [[Men|man]]-like ears and small, wideset eyes that shine in the dark like those of a wild beast. Male dwarves grow impressively long and bushy beards, while female dwarves have incredibly thick and fast-growing hair that must be trimmed daily. Famously dwarves possess thick, leathery skin which is softest on their bellies but hard as rock around their backs, resembling a rough surface of craggy stone. Much like how other [[Races|races]] tattoo their bodies, dwarves’ skin can be “carved” into, a traditional art they call *kocanje*. Dwarves do not possess fingernails; instead, large spurs of bone grow from the ends of their fingers which they can use as shovels to dig tunnels. These spurs must be regularly filed down to prevent overgrowth. There are two common breeds of dwarves in Runera: [[Hill Dwarves|hill dwarves]] and [[Mountain Dwarves|mountain dwarves]].
