Half-elves are the offspring of [[Men|men]] and [[Elves|elves]] who are outcasted by the cultures of both their parents. They are one of the only possible half-breeds that can be produced by inter-racial relationships; other combinations never result in pregnancy. Half-elves have flat, [[Men|man]]-like teeth and can grow facial hair, but they also possess the pointed ears and black saucer-eyes of their [[Elves|elven]] parents. All half-[[Elves|elves]] are sterile and cannot produce offspring of their own, no matter the race with which they breed. Half-elves struggle to find a place in the world; they experience the same oppression at the hands of [[Men|Manfolk]] as their [[Elves|elven]] parents, but among [[Elves|elven]] cultures they are often considered “impure” or “savage-blooded.” - **Age:** Half-elves can live up to two centuries, but most do not live to see the end of their first hundred years. - **Young-middle aged:** 15 + 2d10 years. - **Old:** 60 + (1d6+1d8) years. - **Size:** Half-elves are somewhat taller than [[Elves|elves]] and lither than most [[Men|Manfolk]], averaging 5.5 – 6 ft and 100 – 160 lbs. - **Half-Breed:** Every dawn, you must roll a d6. On an even roll, you gain Advantage on Cha checks made against [[Men|men]], and Disadvantage against [[Elves|elves]]. On an odd roll, you gain Advantage on Cha checks made against [[Elves|elves]], and Disadvantage against [[Men|men]]. - **Nightsight:** You have better night vision than most [[Men|men]], but are just as blind in the absence of light. - **Versatile:** During character creation, you can apply +1 to an attribute of your choice (maximum 17, cannot be applied to [[Luck]] or Initiative). - **Two-Tongued:** You gain an extra common [[Languages|language]] spoken by [[Men|men]] or [[Elves|elves]]. - **Of Two Worlds:** You gain either the Lithe or Indomitable Spirit traits. During a Short Rest, you may switch out one of these traits for the other.
